THE Vision
Wishing Well Park has been a part of our community since June 2006. After 18 years, our cherished community space is in the midst of a much-needed revitalization..
Project SWING, the nonprofit that maintains Wishing Well Park, has undertaken an effort to revitalize the Park, with support from Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, community volunteers, local businesses, and neighbors committed to providing a safe, accessible and fun place for all community children to enjoy. The team’s goal is to completely revitalize Wishing Well Park to make it more safe, modern, accessible, and inclusive by offering the following:
New play equipment clustered by age group, made of natural materials
Play elements accessible to children with disabilities
Accessible pathways throughout the Park, and updated hardscaping
Outdoor musical instruments and a stage for creative play
Covered seating area
Nature path outside of the Park perimeter
Plantings to create natural shade, and a more park-life feel
Take a look at renderings of our new Park design below. Construction on Phase I is currently underway!
We have had fundraising success sufficient to break ground on Phase I this summer (June-August 2024). Once Phase I is complete, the investment to achieve our entire vision through Phase II is expected to cost an additional $150,000. Through your support and financial commitments, our investment in this community infrastructure will ensure a strong future for the Park, our surrounding community, & the Village of Midlothian. Wishing Well Park will be the vibrant heartbeat of our community - a place we are all excited & proud to gather for generations to come!
